Do you charge for an estimate?
No — estimates are free. Call anytime and we'll come out to look at the property, walk it with you, listen to what you want and give you a clear, honest read on what it needs and what it'll cost. There's no charge and no obligation, whether it's weekly mowing or a full landscape install.
Will I actually deal with Ron?
Yes. Blossom View is Ron McConnell's owner-operated crew, and Ron is the one who shows up and walks the property — which is why customers name him personally in their reviews, from 'Ron and his crew are second to none' to homeowners who've stayed with us for twenty years. You're dealing with the owner, not a call center.
Which areas do you cover?
We're based in Cheshire, CT and care for lawns and landscapes across the surrounding towns — Wallingford, Southington, Prospect, Meriden, Hamden, Bethany and Wolcott. If you're not sure you're in range, give us a call and we'll tell you straight.
Do you take on both small jobs and big projects?
Both. We handle weekly mowing and one-off jobs like a mulch delivery or a bed clean-up, right up to full landscape projects — paver walkways, new plantings and drainage systems. Plenty of customers start with one job and stay on for regular care.

Lawn care & seasons
When is the best time to seed or overseed a lawn in Connecticut?
Early fall is prime time here — the soil is still warm, the air is cooler and moisture is more reliable, which gives new grass its best start ahead of winter. Spring works too, but fall seeding usually establishes stronger and faces less weed pressure. We slit-seed with a power seeder so the seed makes real soil contact instead of sitting on top.
Why do you aerate, and when?
Over the years the soil packs down and a layer of thatch builds up, and grass roots slowly suffocate. Core aeration pulls small plugs from the soil to open it back up so water, air and fertilizer reach the roots — and it pairs perfectly with overseeding, since the seed drops right into the holes. Fall is the usual window in Connecticut, alongside seeding and feeding.
How often should the lawn be mowed?
Through the main growing season most lawns want a weekly cut. We mow at the right height for the time of year — higher through the summer heat to protect the roots and keep the lawn from stressing — and we edge, trim and blow off the hard surfaces every visit so the property looks sharp when we leave.
Do you handle fall leaf clean-up?
Yes, and it matters more than people think. A heavy leaf load left on the grass mats down and can smother and kill the lawn underneath over the winter. We stay on top of the leaves through the drop and clear them off, so your grass comes through the winter healthy.

How do you leave the property when you're done?
Neat. It's the thing customers mention most in their reviews — the work done 'promptly, neatly, quickly,' the driveway swept clean after a mulch delivery. We clean up after ourselves on every visit, because a job isn't finished until the property looks finished.
Can you get me on a seasonal schedule?
Yes. Many properties are on a simple seasonal schedule — spring clean-up and seeding, summer mowing and feeding, fall leaf clean-up and aerating — so the yard is handled without you having to think about it. We're just as happy to help on a one-time or as-needed basis if that suits you better.
Do you fix drainage and wet spots?
Yes. We install dry wells and drainage systems and regrade problem areas to move water away from the house and out of the low spots where it pools and kills the grass. If you've got a soggy corner, erosion through a bed, or downspouts dumping against the foundation, we'll sort it.
